Organizers have also urged participants in the Lesbian and Gay Rights demonstration to take part in a separate rally for the Coalition for a People's Alternative in 1980 scheduled later in the afternoon. The People's Convention and Festival scheduled for the South Bronx has been organized to present an alternative to the "too many years of broken promises" of the two party system.

NAILS DRIVEN INTO 'FAMILY COFFIN'

Conservative delegates walked out of the third and final regional White House Conference on Families in Los Angeles, tearing up their ballots to protest what they considered a lack of discussion of "moral issues." The walkout was similar to conservative proests in Baltimore and Minneapolis.

The Los Angeles conference voted to support the

ERA, legalized abortion and teenage access to contraception. Conservative del-

egate from Nevada, Janie Triggs, who led the walkout, told the New York Times that the conference was "manipulated... to provide for a pre-determined outcome." According to Triggs, accepting the recommendations "would be to drive more nails into the federally funded coffin of the American family."

NGTF, OTHERS FILE COMPLAINT OVER CBS SHOW

The National Gay TaskForce, with the cooperation of San Francisco Mayor Dianne Feinstein and Supervisor Harry Britt have filedan official complaint to the National News Council over the airing of the CBS special, Gay Power, Gay Politics. In their complaint, NGTF Co-Executive Directors Lucia Valeska and Charles Brydon stated, "By failing to distinguish between the fact of the political movement in San Francisco and the opinions and conjectures of the producers, and drawing national implications from the latter, CBS did great harm to America's gay community."
